I Start
I heard a sound a call from somewhere, I turned.
But no one there, I had some words I read.
But someone I knew – they never said who.
So now you see, so now you see.
I caught a look, a call from somewhere I turned.
But nothing there but someone touched me.
It sent me sideways, had me reeling.
And I reached out and I held you without feeling.
I held you without feeling.
And I start to fall, I go ‘round and ‘round.
And I start to fall, I never hit the ground.
And I start to fall – I just start that’s all.
And I start. I just start.

Weight Loss
Tipping the scales at 12.5
Can’t you see, enough is enough, is enough – it’s too much.
But you’ll listen to no one and you’ll, eat your way out of this jam.
Out of this jam. Argh!
Regards the chosen few as idols.
But ignores the social call.
The social call.
That’s all.
Reads about life from books and quotes.
Names and places he’s never been.
He’s never seen.
In his life.
Another weight loss.
Another weight loss.
Another weight loss.

Third World
Third world coming closer.
Fighting, uniting, getting nearer.
And their vision, getting clearer.
Getting nearer, coming closer.
In the third world.
In the third world.
In the third world.
Third world, call them backward?
Learning, looking over your shoulder.
Moving forward, taking over.
Moving forward, coming closer.

A Sinking Ship
Stopping for breath, he surveys the scene.
But word-for-word, picture-for-picture it’s all the same.
But will it ever change? Next time, he won’t pause for air.
Next time, he’ll just pass us by.
Believing is seeing and I’m seeing it all.
Each pause for breath in his conversation.
Reveals yet another side to him.
Another breakdown, in, conversation.
Another breakdown, in, his concentration.

Smiles and Guns
There’s not much light.
There is no sound.
But your Breathing.
Steady breathing.
It’s dark in there.
Your movement slows.
You feel your way.
Repeat yourself.
Repeat!
Like smiles and guns, you feel your way.
repeat, repeat yourself, repeat yourself.
As you sink.
You won’t notice.
To graves without waves.
It’s a slow process.
